Cinnabon Style Rolls

Is there anything better than the smell of cinnamon rolls baking in the oven on a rainy afternoon? 

I think not, for now... 

Warm and fluffy rolls, lathered with thick cream cheese frosting and hazelnut spread then drizzled over with dark chocolate sauce... 

Sorry , I don't have pictures of them with the frosting but we just couldn't wait:)

The recipe's really easy to follow but something that must be done when you have an afternoon to spend in the kitchen.

Pancakes and Omelet

I usually skip breakfast. 

Yes, yes. I know it's the most important meal of the day. 

But as soon as I wake up, I have a gazillion things on my mind and a list of things to do. 

 Sunday brunches are non-existent on my book because I work on weekends,

but weekday brunches can be just as divine...

Fluffy vanilla pancakes dusted with sugar, topped with fresh fruits and a drizzle of syrup

Smoked ham, mozzarella and cheddar cheese omelet with homemade whole wheat bread

Cap this off with a mug of pipping hot black coffee and I'm good to go

Happy days...

Churros con Chocolate

It's been foggy weather here lately.

Meaning...

I've been living in my comfy sweater. Yes, it has seen better days, may be faded and has several tiny holes on the sleeves but I believe that is perfect fashion for foggy weather.

I've been too lazy to put on my garden boots and hunt down those pesky snails that keeps on raiding my lettuce bed. 

They'll have their day. Soon. When the sun comes out. Not today.

I've been too lazy also to go out and run some errands. My stock of flour and eggs has been dwindling, but not yet completely gone.

Meaning...

I can make the perfect foggy weather snack!

Too lazy to get out a few pots and make churros con chocolate from scratch?

  Nope. Never.

 Fresh, warm, soft and crunchy churros dredged in cinnamon sugar then dipped in thick hot chocolate...perfect!

Muffins, muffins, muffins...

I've been busy lately baking up a storm here at The Blue Cottage. 

I'm up to my nose and ears in flour, eggs, sugar, chocolate...not that anybody's complaining:) 

Well, maybe my jeans...but that's what rock climbing and gardening is for. 

I've been testing these muffin recipes for...well, I'll just announce the news when I'm sure. I don't want to jinx anything.

Anyway, thank God for rock climbing friends and family who happily scarfed these bad boys down;)
